Graphics can make or break the success of an e-book. It’s estimated that people take
about 20 seconds to evaluate whether or not they’re interested in purchasing a book. In
the bookstore or online that gives them about enough time to scan the title and graphics,
which makes both critically important in the buying decision.

The trouble is, headlines and titles are often easier to come by than graphics which are
both attention getting and relevant to the subject matter and as more and more e-books hit
the market – there’s an added challenge to be unique. Here are a few tips and strategies
to find the right e-book cover graphic.

#1 The most common step e-book creators take is to hit the stock photo websites. This is
a great option because the cost for stock photos are relatively low and the search tools
make it easy to find a number of options. And many sites offer downloads in a number
of sizes making clarity and image quality a non-issue.

However, the problem of uniqueness exists when you use an online stock photo site. The
solution is to use sites which show how many times the photo has been downloaded. This
limits the chance that it’s been pasted all around the internet. Search online for free

#2 Hire a graphic designer. This is a more expensive option however the right graphic
designer turns a plain old PDF into a work of art. Take sure when hiring a graphic
designer to find out if they create all of their artwork or if they too use stock photos. Ask
for samples and make sure all your graphics are original and you have 100% of the rights
to them.

#3 Use graphic software. There are a number of quality design software programs
created specifically for e-book graphics. Additionally, screenshot software can create
good cover art for technology books.

Of course for the do it yourselfer, you can take photos or create cover art using many of
the drawing and graphic design programs. Before you get started with any of these

Rebranding an ebook is a fantastic way to make viral and affiliate profits. You can purchase a book, change it and make it your own and then sell it or redistribute it to your opt in list or customers.

There are expensive software programs that you can purchase to help you rebrand your books but there’s a less costly way. Most books available for rebranding come in two versions a PDF version and an MS Word version.

Microsoft word offers a few features to make this easy.

#1 The Insert Hyperlink feature. This feature, when you click on it, enables you to change or add a hyperlink to text. If the book already has hyperlinks, then you can use this feature to change them.

#2 Find and replace. (Ctrl and F) This feature enables you to uniformly change the content. For example, if you want to change the name of a website that is repeatedly mentioned to your website or your affiliate website, you can use the find and replace feature and change the entire book in one click.

#3 Headers and footers. Often, the headers and footers of an ebook need to be rebranded to show your website and your contact information. In Microsoft Word you can view the Header and Footer and make changes.

#4 Change out the cover page. MS Word enables you to completely delete, modify, or replace the cover page as well as the last couple pages. You can change them to reflect your business and your marketing needs.

#5 If the book isn’t available in word format, and the PDF is unsecured, which it should be if rebranding rights are available, then you can cut and paste the PDF into word to make your changes. Once your book has been modified in MS Word you can simply print it as a PDF using one of the many PDF converters that are available for free.

That’s it. It doesn’t take more than a few clicks to rebrand an ebook in MS Word. It will save you money because you don’t have to buy the expensive rebranding software programs and the tools you need to change your word document into a PDF are available for free online.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick heads up on a new free resource that i just discovered online the other day.

Now for those of you who were looking for a way to make money by creating your own pdf ebooks and documents for free then i can definately recommend the Openoffice.org free office suite which is a multiplatform and multilingual office suite and an open-source project.

The good thing about this product is that it's also compatible with all other major office suites, and is free to download, use, and distribute.

Now the main components that are included in the office suite are a word processor -very similar to microsoft word ( called simply-Writer) it's within this component that you can create your very own pdf ebooks and files .

Once you have written your document or ebook content all thats left to do is to simply go to (File) then scrolling down and clicking ( Export as PDF ) and hey presto -your very own pdf files and ebooks are created!

The other components included in the free office suite are a vector drawing tool, a spreadshhet,and database program -all free for you to download.

As an added bonus theres also a presentation tool called(Impress) which again will give you very similar features that you would get with Powerpoint.(also file compatible)

I know there are other products out there that are capable of creating your own pdf ebooks
but if your just starting out or just decided you would like to make and create your very own digital product without the added expense to begin with then i think this would be a good place to start if your watching your initial Marketing budget at the moment an i believe there has been a major update to the program also with some improvements.
