7 Free Lessons from the Teachers of The Secret

Rebranding an ebook is a fantastic way to make viral and affiliate profits. You can purchase a book, change it and make it your own and then sell it or redistribute it to your opt in list or customers.

There are expensive software programs that you can purchase to help you rebrand your books but there’s a less costly way. Most books available for rebranding come in two versions a PDF version and an MS Word version.

Microsoft word offers a few features to make this easy.

#1 The Insert Hyperlink feature. This feature, when you click on it, enables you to change or add a hyperlink to text. If the book already has hyperlinks, then you can use this feature to change them.

#2 Find and replace. (Ctrl and F) This feature enables you to uniformly change the content. For example, if you want to change the name of a website that is repeatedly mentioned to your website or your affiliate website, you can use the find and replace feature and change the entire book in one click.

#3 Headers and footers. Often, the headers and footers of an ebook need to be rebranded to show your website and your contact information. In Microsoft Word you can view the Header and Footer and make changes.

#4 Change out the cover page. MS Word enables you to completely delete, modify, or replace the cover page as well as the last couple pages. You can change them to reflect your business and your marketing needs.

#5 If the book isn’t available in word format, and the PDF is unsecured, which it should be if rebranding rights are available, then you can cut and paste the PDF into word to make your changes. Once your book has been modified in MS Word you can simply print it as a PDF using one of the many PDF converters that are available for free.

That’s it. It doesn’t take more than a few clicks to rebrand an ebook in MS Word. It will save you money because you don’t have to buy the expensive rebranding software programs and the tools you need to change your word document into a PDF are available for free online.

Why Google Adsense and YouTube Go Hand in Hand Online

Adding the video units, or widgets, to a website is simple. The webmaster copies and pastes code into the website. The Adsense help center offers step-by-step instructions to make the process easier. The Adsense blog also provides ongoing tips for managing video units and controlling the YouTube content that streams to the publisher’s website.

YouTube’s creation of video units offers webmasters a way to increase their Adsense earnings, while at the same time enhancing their websites.

Through this program, Adsense users can place a video unit on their website. The video unit is customizable, and can be modified to fit the color scheme and design of the website. Income is generated when viewers click on companion ads (either text or image) that are displayed at the top of the video unit, or text overlay ads that appear at the bottom of the video screen. Like the original Adsense ads, video unit advertising payment is based either on CPC or CPM.

Video content is obtained either by choosing content categories, individual content providers, or by accepting automatically target video - much the same as ads are automatically placed, based on the website’s keyword content.

Industry analysts say there is a lot of potential here. With Google’s Adsense network already in place, merging that network with YouTube’s extensive video content catalog will change the face of online and video marketing. For publishers already using Adsense, this could mean significantly more income. Google will share revenue with both site owners and content providers.

According to reports, more than 100 content providers from YouTube are presently contributing video to the program.

Some publishers feels the potential is great, because video does attract a viewer’s attention. The program will be a “win-win” for website owners and advertisers, they say. The key will be in the relevance of the video feeds to the website.

“The better the match, the more profitable these video ads will be,” said one webmaster.

The concern among site owners seems to be solely based on the relevance of video feeds to site content. While it is still too early to tell whether Google will need to tweak the selection process, some users are reporting good matches so far. One user said search parameters are saved in the profile, which the webmaster can easily alter at any time. Only videos tagged with specific terms related to his content are shown, and any changes made to the profile are reflected in the videos served to his site.

Adsense recommends that website owners take care to provide highly focused, relevant keywords as a way to ensure the best possible match between site content and the video that is fed to the site.

Is Google Adsense Right for Every Website?

Many websites that provide information on internet marketing stress the importance of adding Google Adsense to a website, while other internet marketing gurus caution against it. With so many conflicting opinions, it can be hard to figure out what to do.

Google Adsense is a program that allows website owners and bloggers to earn money by allowing Google to place ads on their websites and blogs. When a person signs up for Adsense, they create the shape and colors of the ads.

When satisfied with the display, the website owner clicks a button and the Google Adsense program generates some HTML program that the website owner places on their site. Google is then able to read the content of these sites and blogs and insert ads related to the content. When someone visiting the site clicks on these ads, the website owner receives a credit to their account.

The exact amount a person earns per click will vary depending on what ad the visitor clicked on. Once the credit balance has reached $100, the website owner can ask for the funds to be sent to them.

Some people are claiming to make a very large income with Adsense, but the majority of people do not make that much. However, it can be a small additional income stream that you do not have to work any extra hours to earn.

It is important to note that Google decides what ads are shown and the order in which they appear. While it is not their intention to put anything explicit or distasteful on your site, you still do not have much say in what appears and what doesn’t. If you don’t agree with this, your only option is to decline to participate in the program.

Whenever a website owner chooses to display ads on their site, they are giving their visitors an invitation to leave the site. For people who participate in a lot of affiliate marketing or sell many of their own products and do not want to distract their readers’ attention, putting up Adsense may not be the best idea.

As we mentioned earlier, various internet marketing gurus will have different opinions on whether a person should put up Adsense. While each side has their own strong points, the ultimate decision is a very personal choice.

This is when it is necessary for a website owner to try out different techniques and track them to see which method works out best for them.

Don't Expect Miracles Overnight with Google Adsense Revenues

Simply putting Adsense on a website will not likely generate any income for most webmasters. Income varies due to a number of factors.

There is a lot of hype among some internet marketers about the income potential of Google’s Adsense program. While Adsense will not likely make anyone a millionaire overnight, the program does bring the potential for a healthy passive income. Webmasters who find it most successful are those who take the time to study trends and developments, test different approaches, track
their results, and continue to develop their websites and the way they use Google Adsense.

Number of visitors to the website. Sales has been called a numbers game, because the larger the pool of potential prospects, the greater the chance that a sale will be made. So it is with internet marketing. Adsense won’t work as a revenue generator unless there is significant traffic to the website.

Webmasters can make Adsense more successful by focusing on attracting more visitors to their sites. There are several ways to accomplish this. Improving content is critical, as visitors are more likely to view the site when it holds quality material.

Market to the right people, and take every opportunity to give the website url exposure, such as adding it to the signature line of the webmaster’s email. Develop a mailing list, create a newsletter, offer a free item to encourage sign-ups, and publish a form on the website that allows visitors to request more information. This is all free advertising, which keeps viewers aware of the website and encourages new viewers to visit. The more of it that is done, the faster traffic will increase.

Appeal of Adsense ads. Just as some print ads are more effective than others, so it is with website ads. Visitors won’t bother clicking if the ad holds no appeal due to its appearance or location.

Adsense allows webmasters to change the size, shape, and color of ads appearing on their sites. Make ads blend with the style and appearance of the website, so that ads and content flow together smoothly. Then, track the click thru rate on each new layout to determine which ones work best. Pay attention to position of the ads, too. Most clicks are received by ads near the top of the website and near the left edge of the page. Ads that are surrounded by white space also receive more clicks than those that are crowded together.

For a lot of webmasters, income generated through the Adsense program is sufficient to cover hosting costs and other expenses associated with their websites. Making the program work requires knowledge, effort, and patience. The potential rewards make the effort worthwhile.

Lead Generation Tips for Website Owners

Whether promoting a product or service, reaching the right market is essential. Websites can become a potent vehicle for generating viable leads at little or no cost to the website owner. Here are some tips on lead generation:

• Create a newsletter and publish the sign-up box on your website. Weekly newsletters keep the brand current in the buyer’s mind. Content-rich mailings improve the likelihood that recipients will keep the material beyond the first reading, thus increasing exposure to the product or service and ensuring that the website address is readily available.

• When a new product or service is launched, send an email to the newsletter distribution list to let potential buyers know that something new is available. Include active links to the website to make purchasing more convenient.

• Create a landing page with details about new products or services prior to their launch date. Send an email to the distribution list to announce the forthcoming item and include a link to the landing page. Create a sign-up box on this page that visitors can use to request more information or notification when the item becomes available. This nets a ready-made list of potential buyers. It can also save time and money if only a few visitors sign up, signaling that there may be no market for the item before too much time and money are invested in it.

• Offer a “freebie”, such as a special report or ebook, to increase newsletter sign-ups. Alternatively, offer a discount on the subscriber’s next purchase as an incentive to sign up now. Creating a sense of urgency motivates the buyer to act immediately and decreases the odds that the mailing will be put aside and forgotten.

• Joining online communities and discussion lists that are frequented by the demographic segment most likely to buy is a promotion strategy that offers multiple benefits. Firstly, it allows the website owner to keep tabs on the needs and trends of potential buyers. Based on this information, changes can be made to the website and/or product offerings. Secondly, posting regularly and making the website address part of the email signature serves as a built-in marketing tool. The website, product, and creator are kept in readers’ minds on a regular basis.

• Auto-responders are an efficient way to contact interested people immediately and on a regular basis. Website owners can opt to subscribe to a service, usually for a monthly fee, or purchase a program to be installed in one’s own computer. When individuals sign up to receive the newsletter or more information, a message is automatically sent to their email account. Thereafter, regular emails can be sent on an incremental, predetermined basis for as long as the subscriber remains active.

These are just a few ways website owners can significantly increase awareness of and traffic to their sites, using tools that are already in place.

No Need to Go Broke with Adwords

Whether a novice or an experienced online marketer, anyone can take advantage of Google’s Adwords program - even on a tight budget.

The advantage of pay-per-click advertising is that a cost is only incurred when a viewer clicks thru and visits the designated landing page. This increases the likelihood that the viewer will take the next step – perhaps signing up to receive more information, or ideally, making a purchase. The benefit to the advertiser is that payment is only made if an action is taken. Thus, the ad can be displayed an unlimited number of times at no charge. The fee is applied only for clicks.

Advertisers can control their costs by setting a monthly budget to limit the amount of money being spent through this vehicle. This allows business owners to plan their advertising budget in advance and determine how much can be allocated to the Adwords campaign. When the monthly limit is reached, the ad will not be displayed until the next month begins.

With a limit in place, advertisers can focus on making the most of the click-thrus by enhancing the landing pages, improving keyword usage, and simplifying page design to make the desired action easier for the viewer to take. This will increase the conversion rate on click-thrus, giving the advertiser both a large potential customer base and providing a much higher ROI.

Focusing keywords, titles and ad descriptions will zero in on the best qualified viewers. Having a high CTR doesn’t benefit the advertiser if the conversion rate is low. One way to increase profitability is by managing CPC. By targeting the ideal niche market of the business through optimal use of keywords in ads, the ad will be displayed to viewers who are most likely to have an interest in the product or service. Thus, these clicks are more likely to eventually result in sales. Again, this increases the advertiser’s ROI, making the Adwords campaign a more cost-effective and profitable marketing tool.

Narrowing the focus of the ad campaign relies on a thorough understanding of the advertiser’s market, and the expert use of keywords in the creation of the ads. While there are many services that specialize in search engine optimization, these services increase the expense associated with the campaign. The cost-conscious advertiser can become better educated in how search engines work, and how keywords are ranked, by using one of the many websites established specifically for this purpose. In addition to articles and tools, many offer community forums that members can use to exchange ideas and information.

Adwords offers a flexible, powerful tool for reaching an advertiser’s target market, and it can be done with any size budget.

How to Add a Photo to Wordpress Blog Posts

Inserting an image into your WordPress Blog post is a simple and straightforward process.
Adding a photo or image is also easy to do! Here’s how…

Photos add life to your WordPress blog posts. They help your reader relate to the content and they add make your blog posts all the more interesting. Adding a photo or image is also easy to do! Here’s how:

Step 1 Get into your dashboard and click ‘write a post.’

Step 2 Give your post a title.

Step 3 Start writing. You can write your post before or after you enter your image. Typically the image is positioned at the beginning of the post.

Step 4 While in the ‘write a post’ page, scroll down the page and you will see a section where you can upload photos, videos, etc…

Step 5 Click on “Browse” to find the photo you want to upload. It’s often easier if you keep your photos in one file so you don’t have to waste time searching your computer for the photo you want. If you’ve uploaded a file from a stock photo website, make sure to label the photo because they’re easy to get mixed up and disorganized.

Step 6. Give your photo a title and a description. This helps keep you organized when your uploaded pictures become plentiful.

Step 7 Choose the size photo you want and where you want it linked. Choose “File” if you want the photo uploaded into the post you’re writing. “Page” if you’re creating a page and “none” if you just want the file uploaded for future use.

Step 8 Now you’re ready to insert the photo into your post. Click “send to editor.”

Step 9 The image should now be seen in your post. If you want to edit the image, you can click on it and then click on the toolbar icon that is labeled “Insert/edit image.” There you have alignment choices, dimensions, and borders.

Step 10 Save and publish. Goodluck ! :)

What is Google Adsense?

Google Adsense is a program that allows web publishers to partner with Google and earn additional income. When someone joins the program, they allow Google to place ads on their website or blog, and based upon the ad that is shown, they will either get paid for a certain number of ad impressions or when one of their visitors clicks on these ads.

Google uses their technology to “read” the content on the pages the web publisher is allowing them to place ads on. This increases the chances of the ad being relevant to the topic of that particular web page or blog entry, which also increases the chance of a reader clicking on that ad.

While Google does have the final say in which ads appear on which pages, the web publisher is the one that decides how they will look and where they will go. Adsense users can choose from several styles of ads, including links only as well as full ads with text and even ads with pictures.

In addition to choosing which type of ad, a user can choose from many sizes and shapes of ad boxes, also known as ad units. In the final step, the user gets to fully customize the color of the ad units, including the borders, links and text.

In recent months, Adsense users have been allowed to publish ads on their site in a whole new way with Adsense embedded YouTube players. Many web publishers are actively placing videos on their sites and blogs to help grab their visitors’ attention and add interest to their site. Now these web publishers can earn additional income for it, too.

The actual amount of income a person earns through Adsense has many variables. Since a person generates income through the amount of clicks they are receiving or the amount of people who are viewing the ad, a website owner with a large amount of traffic has the potential to earn a considerably greater amount of money.

There are, in fact, a number of people who are earning large sums of money with the Adsense program, but they are few and far between. To many website owners, Adsense is only an additional stream of income. Simply joining the Adsense program is not a guarantee of future income, it is only a possibility of future income.

Adsense does provide tools for their users to help them maximize their earning potential. One of these is called a channel. This allows the user to create different styles of ad units and place them on different pages of their site in order to track the results. This can tell the user which shapes and sizes of ads, as well as what type of content, induces the highest amount of earnings.

For web publishers looking to earn an additional stream of income, Adsense can be a great way to accomplish that.

Competition and Google Adwords Online

There is a common misconception among some internet marketers that the most popularly used search terms make the best keywords for advertisers. While it is true that more searches mean more potential traffic is out there, it doesn’t factor in the competition. Selecting the best keywords for an advertiser’s business is by far a more effective choice.

The Google Adwords help center suggests avoiding very broad or general words. This could result in many impressions, but not many click thrus. An advertiser that offers health products or services to older adults, for example, would gain many impressions with the keyword “seniors”. However, the term “seniors” could relate to anything of interest to, or about, the elderly, or even high school seniors, none of which makes a very useful market. Better to focus the keyword to reflect the nature of the offering more closely: senior health.

Using descriptive terms also helps attract a more qualified audience. If an advertiser uses the term “cook books” rather than the general “books”, each click is more likely to lead to a conversion, because it will be chosen by people looking for cook books rather than another genre. “Italian cook books” narrows the field even more.

It doesn’t really benefit the advertiser to have a high rate of clicks and a low conversion ratio. If viewers are clicking but not buying, this simply costs the advertiser more money and is not balanced by increased sales. Highly targeted keywords help advertisers attract a better-qualified prospect. This means a higher conversion rate and greater ROI.

When developing keywords, it is helpful to examine one’s website to identify recurring words and phrases, and the primary themes that characterize it. Similarly, research other websites in the same market. Consider why those sites are successful or not, and study the wording used in their ads and content. If they are successful and they are reaching the right market, try incorporating similar terms and phrases.

It is also useful to learn to think like a customer. Google recommends listing the things customers might enter into a search engine when seeking a particular product or service. Consider possible alternative spellings of those words as well. For instance, low-fat foods can be referred to as “light” or “lite”. Both spellings should become keywords to ensure that all potential customers are reached.

Monitoring the effectiveness of a campaign is crucial. Use Google’s conversion tracking tool and Google Analytics to measure each new campaign and all revised versions of them. If an ad isn’t drawing as many clicks as anticipated, evaluate keywords and implement changes. Then, continue tracking results to determine whether the changes have been for the better.

Affiliate marketing is a method for promoting a product, service, or event in which an affiliate is given a commission for their promotion efforts. On occasion, the business offering the affiliate program may offer their affiliates a pay per lead program.

With this type of program, the affiliate will earn a commission for every lead they send to the business. Adding this type of program can have many advantages for both the affiliate and the business.

The affiliates will more than likely be bringing in targeted leads that are already familiar with the type of products or services the business is offering. This will, of course, lead to higher conversion rates and increased sales.

When a pay per lead program is in place, the business will need to pay the affiliate for each lead they send, whether the lead converted into a sale or not. If the leads coming in are less than stellar, the business could end up losing money.

There are a few ways to prevent this from happening. One option would be to implement an invitation-only program. In this case, the affiliate manager would look over the list of affiliates and do a bit of review of each affiliate’s blog or website to determine if they are reaching the desired target market.

After the review, if the affiliate manager feels that quality leads could be gained from the affiliate’s website, the affiliate will be sent an email with a link that allows them to sign up for the program.

Another option for this type of program that allows all of your affiliates to participate, would be to have the lead cover the cost of the affiliate’s commission. Most people are happy to pay negligible fees for information programs. These fees can then be used to cover the cost of the affiliate’s commission.

For example, if an internet marketer is about to launch a new information product, they could hold a teleseminar and charge the participants $1 to attend. An easy way to add value is by recording the call and sending the registrants the Mp3 to download and listen to later. In this scenario, most people would feel that is a worthwhile value.

The internet marketer can easily build buzz around this teleseminar by allowing their affiliates to promote the call with 100% commission for each person that signs up. The internet marketer has just created a win-win situation. The affiliates will be happy to earn $1 for each lead, and the internet marketer will have created a legitimate mailing list of interested, targeted leads for the launch of their new product.

Long before the internet rose to its position of importance in marketing, the use of article marketing was considered a useful promotion tool in print media. Today, the availability of online venues such as websites, ezines and newsletters via email have created an even greater need for well-written articles on a variety of topics. As a result, article marketing has become a more powerful tool than ever before.

Article marketing is the practice of providing well-written content for distribution to websites and e-publishers in exchange for a blurb about the author’s business and contact information. These “bios” usually include a link to the business owner’s website.

When a business owner offers content for publication, it is equivalent to getting free ad space on countless websites worldwide. The opportunity for exposure to the right market is significant, while the cost is virtually nil, making it a highly efficient means of business communication.

Unlike using email campaigns for lead generation, which net about a one percent response rate, article marketing targets a willing audience. Readers either voluntarily visited the website on which the article is published, or have opted in to receive the newsletter or ezine. This audience is inherently more open to the information contained in the article, and therefore more likely to follow the link to the author’s website to learn more.

Publishers who pick up the articles already have an audience of potential buyers in place. Readers are interested in the content of the articles, suggesting they may be in the market to purchase products or services related to that content. By comparison, the cost to purchase a list of such well-qualified leads would be formidable. Providing an article costs no more than the investment of the time required to write it.

Business owners can further increase the conversion rate by including a link to a particular piece of information in the author’s bio. Rather than linking to the home page, authors can include a link to an article on their own site that elaborates on the article topic. Readers will be more likely to seek out additional specific information.

Conversion rates can be improved further by publishing an email address that readers can use to subscribe to the author’s newsletter or website. Making the desired action as easy as possible increases the reader’s likelihood of doing so. An auto-response can then be sent to new signa links to specific features of the author’s website.

Providing content to publishers in related fields can be a highly cost-effective means of increasing website traffic, generating qualified leads, and improving both brand awareness and ultimately, sales.

Not everyone is a potential customer for a given product or service. Smart business owners know their niche – the particular, well-defined segment of the population that will have interest in what is being sold.

In order to be effective, adwords campaigns must address the advertiser’s niche. This requires an in-depth understanding of who comprises the market and why they buy, and a tightly focused keyword list.

• Who is buying the product or service? Successful advertisers develop a profile of their typical customer. Keywords, titles, and descriptions must appeal to this person. A health-conscious person would be more likely to click thru an ad for “organic meatless recipes”, for example, than “delicious hamburger recipes”.

Reaching the right market – the niche – is necessary to avoid the cost associated with clicks by people who are not likely to buy. Advertisers should strive to avoid viewers who will click but not buy, because they will pay a higher CPC without attaining sales to balance the expense. Low conversion rates are one way to recognize that ads are reaching too broad a market.

• Why do they buy? Marketing experts suggest that purchasing decisions are made for one of three reasons: to fulfill a basic need, to solve a problem, or to create positive feelings about the self. Adwords campaigns should communicate specifically what need will be satisfied, problem solved, or self-image achieved through the purchase.

Viewers are given pages of hits when they enter a search. They need a compelling reason to choose one ad over another. Effective ad titles will increase click-thru rates. The result of these two steps is a lower CPC and a better qualified lead.

To zero in more closely on the niche market, advertisers can employ negative keywords. These are the words that, when included in a viewer’s search, will cause the ad NOT to appear. Developing an accurate list of negative keywords involves several steps. First, using a keyword research tool, enter the keywords chosen for the advertiser’s website. A list of phrases commonly searched that contain those words will be produced. An advertiser selling tulips, for instance, might find that the search phrase “pictures of tulips” is frequently used. The negative keyword “pictures” would then prevent the ad from showing when a viewer wants an image instead of the real thing.

Use keyword phrase matching to further ensure the ad will reach the right viewers. Variations in spelling, common misspellings, interchanged words, and the use of singular and plural forms of keywords allow the maximum number of potential customers to receive the ad in response to a search.

Knowing one’s niche and reaching that segment of the market can enhance an advertiser’s success with Adwords campaigns.

How Exactly Does Google Adwords Work?

Google Adwords is a pay-per-click advertising system that allows a web publisher to create an ad based on keywords and key phrases. This type of advertising campaign can be an effective method for generating traffic to a website.

Creating an ad with Adwords is fairly easy and doesn’t take much time. Google supplies the users of this service with quite a few tools to help them create the most effective ads possible.

A person can choose to have their ad placed on specific websites or have their ad seen on the right side of the screen on a Google search results page. An ad that is seen on websites will be known as a placement specific ad and a search results ad is known as a keyword targeted ad.

A placement specific ad can be billed in two ways, either for the number of impressions, which is the number of times it is seen by people, or through pay-per-click. All keyword targeted ads are billed in the pay-per-click manner. What this means is that Google only charges the advertiser when someone actually clicks on the ad.

This can really help stretch a small business owner’s advertising budget. Google may display the ad quite a few times, but the advertiser is only charged when the ad catches the attention of someone who clicks on it, and is then directed to the advertiser’s site.

Google allows people to pay up front for their Adwords campaign as well as the option of being billed later. For someone who doesn’t want any unexpected surprises, paying up front and having each click or impression debited from the funds is a great way to stay on budget.

To further help stretch an advertiser’s budget, Google allows the advertiser to set a daily limit on how much money is used. If a person has a budget of $50 for the month they can set those limits within their Adwords account and Google will not let them have more clicks or impressions than their budget allows for that day. This will ensure that they get a small amount of advertising each day.

There are many reports within Adwords that can be used to determine the effectiveness of the ad. An advertiser can easily create a few versions of a similar ad and focus each one on specific keywords to see which ad and which keywords are the most effective for them.

In this way, Adwords can be a very effective tool, as well as a great way to drive traffic to your site. By taking some time to modify their ads and track their results, a business owner can find out exactly which ads bring in the most traffic and the highest profits.

It’s human nature. Everyone loves getting something for free. Business owners can use this behavioral truth to increase traffic to their websites and generate qualified leads.

Not everyone who visits a website is ready to make a purchase. In many cases, consumers will comparison shop, visiting several times before making a decision. So even if the website is the main portal through which customers place orders, an equally important purpose of the website is to generate leads.

Creating an ezine or newsletter is a common “freebie”. Subscribers opt in, which means they provide minimal personal information in order to receive the newsletter. Each new subscriber becomes another lead. The result over time is a large mailing list of qualified prospects. In addition to the newsletter, business owners email announcements of new products or services to this custom-made pool of potential buyers.

Many website owners give away “freebies” such as a special report or ebook to increase newsletter sign-ups. This gives visitors to the website an additional incentive to take action, an important step in converting the visit into a future sale. Making the offer time-limited increases urgency and gives prospects a good reason to sign up now, rather than later.

Another benefit of offering “freebies” is the valuable market information it provides. A significant response to an offer suggests the item is a hot topic among qualified buyers. Such data can be useful in driving new product development for the business.

Marketing experts have noted one downside of the free offer, the possibility of attracting people who solely want the “freebie” but are not interested in purchasing anything in the future. One way to decrease the likelihood of this is to make the free offer enticing to those in the market for the products and services offered for sale, but unappealing to others. A direct seller, for example, could offer a free item to anyone who books a sales party that month. By tying in the “freebie” with the desired action, only serious shoppers will respond.

A growing internet trend is to offer visitors a free membership to the website’s online community. Membership entitles the user to access restricted areas of the site, publish a profile, and interact with other members of the community. Usually only a basic amount of information is required to join, such as name and email address.

Industry estimates show that response rates triple when a “freebie” is offered as incentive for prompt action, effectively lowering the business owner’s cost per lead substantially. Even if the free gift increases the total expense of the campaign, the higher volume of qualified leads will result in higher sales volume, thus offsetting the additional expense.

How to Use Channels with Adsense

Google Adsense is a program which offers website owners the chance to earn passive income through their website or blog. By participating in the program, the website owner allows Google to place ads on their website that are related to the content found on the site.

These ads are then seen by the website’s visitors and when one of them clicks on these ads, the website owner receives a commission. The amount received may also be based on how many times that ad was seen on a per-thousand-impressions basis.

While setting up an Adsense account is simple and easy to do, Adsense offers some tools for the website owners that are very advanced and can help the website owners generate higher profits.

In order to help the users know which ads are working the best for them and are generating the most income, Adsense allows the user to set up channels. This feature enables the Adsense user to assign a unique identifier either to a domain name, a specific URL, or even a particular type of ad unit.

When a website owner takes the time to decide what information means the most to them and then identify ways to track it, Google’s channel system can become an immediate and timely form of market research.

The user will be able to view reports that can suggest which type of ad boxes, colors, and more work best on pages featuring different content or even from different websites.

This information can be very helpful, especially if a website owner owns several websites, each catering to a different niche. Each niche may have different tastes. By identifying what type of Adsense ads attracts each type of target market, the website owner will be able to increase their Adsense revenue.

All of this testing and tracking can take some time to complete. It is possible to outsource this activity to a virtual assistant. Some VAs specialize in internet marketing; they may have a lot of experience in this field and can be a source of great information for you.

Of course, Google offers tutorials on how to make the most of channels and how website owners can maximize their profits by using them. Other tutorials can also be found on the web.

The final results won’t come in overnight, but over some time, a pattern can develop which will make it clear what type of ads attract the most users on each site.
